Startups are akin to IPL Teams at the beginning of a season. The teams should have a balance of good bowlers, batsmen and all-rounders. They should have a good Captain to provide leadership and vision. To bring out the best in each player and the team, you need a good Coach. Just as a good coach can differentiate between a winning and a losing team, the right coach can differentiate between a startup success or a failure.
Startups put their best business ideas and try to scale their business rapidly. They get so wrapped up in their "Playbook", meaning their business plan that they lose sight of a few essential aspects of their business that contribute to its downfall. That is where I can step in and lend objectivity. Start-up founders treat their business like their babies and invest it with a certain degree of baneful emotional attachment.
